Empowering Young Leaders
We are a small founder group who want to grow to an influential coalition of community leaders and organisations passionate about seeing middle years young people (8-14 years) harness their strengths and build lasting impact into their futures.
Our Projects
Training
Uniting NSW/ACT, The Stronger Smarter Institute and ARACY joined forces to provide free training to Changemakers engaged with Maximising the Middle.
Changemakers took part in Stronger Smarter Leadership training and ARACY’s Common Approach® across the Campbelltown and Penrith LGAs.
These trainings are a key element of the Maximising the Middle Initiative and strongly support participants to empower middle years young people to thrive.

Research
Maximising the Middle – voices of middle years young people
ARACY, with support from Western Sydney University, sought the views of parents and caregivers with children in the middle years in Penrith and Campbelltown; educators, community service and health workers that work with middle years young people in these LGAs; and middle years students at participating schools.
The aim of the study is to examine the needs and strengths of this age-cohort at the two sites, and identify areas for change in their community.
